Everything I've built came from consistency, not intensity.
I'm not the most talented guy in the room. I never was. What I have is a standard I refuse to drop and a system I run every single day. That's the whole secret — and it's available to anyone willing to actually do it.
Built from the ground up.
I'm AJ Cappuccitti — husband, father of two, and the guy who's up at 4:15 AM while most people are still hitting snooze. I built a general contracting company, AC Custom, with my hands and my standards. Then I systemized it so it could run without me babysitting every detail.
From there I started Criterion Business Solutions to help other small businesses do the same — build the systems, kill the chaos, scale on purpose. I built and shipped CrewAlign, a scheduling and project app, because I needed it and couldn't find it. And I wrote The Sum of Five for the person I used to be — grinding, unsure, surrounded by the wrong standard.
None of it came from a lucky break or a viral moment. It came from showing up, owning the result, and refusing to accept "good enough."
A day, on purpose
- 4:15 AM — up before the noise
- 5:30 AM — gym, no negotiation
- Days on the jobsite, where it's real
- Nights building the brand and the mission
- Sundays — family and rest, protected
Clarity beats hype. Discipline beats noise. Standards beat excuses.
These aren't slogans on a wall. They're the operating system behind everything I do — and what I'll drill into you if we work together.
Clarity over hype
Know the few things that matter. Ignore the rest. Most people are busy being busy.
Discipline over noise
The boring repetition is the work. Do it when you feel like it and when you don't.
Ownership over excuses
The moment you own it, you can fix it. Excuses just hand someone else the wheel.
Systems over hustle
Grinding harder has a ceiling. Systems don't get tired and don't forget.
Environment over willpower
You are the sum of your five. Build the circle that makes the right thing the easy thing.
Family over everything
The whole point. The businesses, the book, the brand — all of it serves the people at home.
"I'm building something real — for my family, my community, and every young entrepreneur watching me do it. If I can do it, you can too. That's not a tagline. It's a promise."
— AJ Cappuccitti
